The Total Automation Group now provides service and commissioning support for the Purple Finder Merchant Marine e-Fleet Management system.
Purple Finder is used by the Merchant Shipping Industry to locate and communicate with Ships throughout the world in a reliable manner. It offers a complete web-based solution that provides instant information on location and two-way message/email communications without the need for expensive local systems. Purple Finder operates in standalone mode or interfaces directly into third party host systems.
Use of the US Global Positioning System (GPS) gives accurate and reliable positional, speed and bearing information with real time reporting.
The DSAS Ship Security Alert System is fully compliant with SOLAS Regulation X1-2/6

NEW FRONT END SYSTEMS
In association with MHT Technology Ltd, Whessoe Total Automation has developed a configurable front-end system capable of interfacing
with all major instrumentation manufacturers. The system provides a cost-effective solution to monitor instrumentation communications.
Tank inventory systems can be configured as standalone applications or as full client server systems. Tank gauging, Tank Inventory,
Alarm data, pressure and temperature inputs can be configured on screen displays, templates, mimic diagrams and overlay displays.
The system can be interfaced to a web browser to provide desktop access if required.

New 1216 Portable Level interface gauge
The gauge has been designed for measuring Innage or Ullage product level, oil-water interface, temperature and bottom dryness in shipboard and land based petroleum / chemical systems. The portable tape is battery operated and totally gas tight. When installed in a vapour-control valve mounted on a storage (cargo) tank, it forms a tightly sealed closed system that prevents toxic vapours from escaping and creates a fully approved closed gauging system.

The gauge offers a unique LCD digital display with touchpad control for simple operation and download capability direct to any PC. The unit has on board memory capable of retaining data for up to 50 storage tanks. Transponders can be supplied to give automatic identity of the tank it is connected to and its characteristics eliminating need for time consuming pre configuration.
The unit has been designed for connection to any tank fitting and offers a full range of universal adapters.

Change of Name of Subsidiary
The Board of Directors of Total Automation Ltd (the "Company") wishes to announce that Whessoe Europe Limited, a wholly owned subsidiary of the Company, has changed its name to Whessoe Total Automation Limited with effect from 10 October 2002.
The name change reflects the Groups strategy to expand strong flexibility in meeting customer's requirements within Europe.

Expansion of traditional activity in Europe remains an important objective of the Group to become a major worldwide player in its specialist industry.
